Regarding my subheader: the old saw is that if a newspaper headline ends in a question then the answer is no. If OSU’s season had any kind of positive momentum I might say yes. But it doesn’t.
Things look very dark right now for Mike Gundy. I think if he wants to keep being the coach at Oklahoma State then he at the very least needs to beat Tech this weekend and then at least be competitive against CU on the last weekend. (And also fire both his coordinators.) Guess we’ll see what happens.
Last week: 3-3 (.500)
Overall: 68-34 (.666)
Arizona 31, TCU 28. The Frogs their last time out beat a bad bunch of Pokes. Wouldn’t be surprised to see an upset here.
No. 14 BYU 27, No. 21 Arizona State 30. Give me Cam Skattebo at home. ASU is hanging tough with their new coach.
No. 16 Colorado 35, Kansas 30. These two played every year between 1947 and 2010. A good bunch of games. This to me is where the KU fuck-up-everyone-tour ends.
Texas Tech 42, Oklahoma State 27. Mike Gundy’s Pokes are 12-2 against Tech since 2009. I hate feeling like the Cowboys are going to drop one to these tortilla-throwing morons, but I’m pretty certain it’s going to happen. We’ll always have 2011, the year the Pokes left maimed the Red Raiders to the tune of 66-6 in Lubbock—but I don’t think Justin Blackmon is walking through that door this weekend.
UCF 24, West Virginia 26. I think Neal Brown gets one back this weekend. Which would make sense, seeing as this game means nothing to most WVU fans. Wooh Neal Brown.
Baylor 31, Houston 24. Weirdly enough, these two havent’t played since 1995, and their all-time series sits at 14-14-1.
No. 22 Iowa State 33, Utah 27. A tough pick—but the only team in the conference in more disarray than Utah right now is OSU. Thus: the Whirley Turds win.
Cincinnati 23, Kansas State 42. I think KSU responds well to last week’s debacle.
